Performance Art

I did a German-expressionism inspired painting of Riley Smith for the LACHSA Theatre production of The Visit. During the play my painting was smashed over Ethan's body.

The play centers around the visitation of Claire Zachanassian (played by Sherrell Jackson) who returns to her hometown. Her purpose in returning is to seek revenge on her ex boyfriend Alfred III (played by Riley Smith) who impregnated her and denied any relations with her. Claire offers the town "eine Millarde" (one billion marks) if they kill Alfred III.

The significance of this moment is that Alfred's portrait is smashed over Ethan's character.
